I love a public holiday
Jun. 2nd, 2003 02:33 pmQueen's Birthday. A curious little holiday, for two reasons. One: I think we're the only country that has a day off to celebrate it. Two: It's not actually the Queen's Birthday at all. That's in a whole other month entirely. Go figure. Sadly, it's the last public holiday for us until the end of October *sigh*. Someone really should organise them so there's one every second month or something.
On the bright side, The Case Of The Missing Santas seems to have been received with positivity. I'm pleased, mainly because I didn't think I could write either genfic, or a second story! I want to start something new, but I am bereft of ideas. Well, not entirely bereft, but the wee seed of an idea in my brain has yet to germinate into anything resembling a sprout of an idea, so I might go back to my horribly neglected cross-stitch and think about it for a few weeks. It promises to be fairly ambitious, and therefore potentially a big disaster. Time will tell...
The visiting ratties are having a nice time (I think - they don't say much). They have some nice polar fleece hammocks that I ran up on Friday night, and some little wooden chewy blocks to gnaw on. I am litter training them - we have about a 70% hit rate in the litter tray so far. I'm impressed. Rats are far brighter than we give them credit for.
And now - filing my bills. I hope I don't keel over with all the excitement.
