Happy Birthday to me...
Sep. 13th, 2003 10:37 amIt's a beautiful, sunny day here in Auckland. I'm a bit scared to go outside, being so close to the hole in the ozone layer that is currently growing to record proportions over Antarctica. I might need a lead suit! But I digress.
What I got for my birthday:
Hotel Paper by Michelle Branch (from Ma-In-Law) and something she made me (which is still coming in the mail). She's a very talented patchworker and I have dozens of little treasures all over the house that's she's painstakingly hand-stitched.
A Russell Hobbs cordless kettle from my little sister. I'm drinking the inaugral cup of tea from it right now. It tastes better! My old kettle was starting to craze in the little clear plastic window, and God knows what was inside it after 6 years!
A George Foreman grill and $100 from my parents. I'm gonna have to rush out and buy some non-stick spray and a big salmon steak, so I can try my grill out. Also, I'm about to get experimenty with Eggplant. I've eaten it once, and it was nice. The $100 is going on pants. I love really nice, tight-fitting, low-rise bootlegs that I can wear to work. I can get at least one pair, two if I chip in some money of my own (remember that the NZ dollar is worth about 58 cents US).
A 9ct gold claddagh ring from hubby. He searched for one for three weeks. It's absolutely beautiful, and of course it has that Angel connection, which is what made him think of it!
To cheer me up, I got ID'd while buying wine at the supermarket last night! I'm 33. The drinking age is 20. I get ID'd nearly every week; one of the reasons I can get away with tight little bootleg pants - I still look like a teenager :o) Thank you Mum for the wonderful genetics. I am forever grateful!

I've only written one sex scene, but it sounds about right
And before I go - Thunderstorm count: STILL ZERO!
( Random rant about the weather )
