YEAH BABY!

All Blacks 30
Australia 13

I am exhausted from just watching it. Aussie shot out to an early 13-0 lead in about 15 minutes, then the All Blacks clawed it back to 13-10 at half time. The amazing thing was we scored 30 unanswered points. And made a hell of a lot of mistakes. Plus the ref ripped us off, calling back a certain try for a forward pass which didn't actually go forward. It could have been a much bigger margin.

I watched the first half of the game at a friend's party, where they had it projected up onto the living room wall. It was brilliant - covered the entire wall, which was helpfully painted white. Bit disconcerting when the players ran over the light switch though. Funniest moment of the evening occurred when one of the party guests sneezed while drinking tequila and managed to shoot it out of his nose!

In other news, we went flat-screen pc monitor shopping for hubby today, and came home with a very nice Benq 19" with a glossy finish which makes everything so so so sharp, and a refresh rate of 6ms. Even cooler, I got his old 17" digital flat screen for my PC!

I also picked up my birthday pressie, since Mum doesn't drive and hates taking Dad shopping because he's rude to the staff. It's a Canon 5200 scanner. 2400 x 4800 dpi and 48-bit colour depth. Scans photos, 35mm negatives and slides (which is awesome because we have a bunch Dad took when I was little that we can't view anymore because the projector broke). So I have to hand that over when I go over for Sunday roast tomorrow, and not get it back for a month :o(

While we were shopping I got myself a cool but inexpensive new keyboard, since the one that came with my comp is super-basic. It's an ergonomic multi-media keyboard - great for all the music listening and vid watching I do; tons of hot keys. The split keyboard is taking some getting used to, especially since I touch type with the wrong fingers and now have to relearn to use the right ones. So sorry if there's any typos I haven't corrected. I can tell it'll be great once I get the hang of it, my wrists feel better already. Swapping back and forth between this and my flat one at work is going to be fun...

benq is cool. mines a 17" with only 8 refresh.. Does hubby's the one that does the swivel into portrait?

With regard to slides, having to do alot a work I've discovered over time they darken (you prob know this) so be prepared to use the lighten aspect in paint/print shop

I don't think so - it's dead square and has speakers across the bottom. I've seen ones that do that though. I also saw the teeniest little Sony Vaio notebook that I wanted very bady, but who has a spare $4000 laying around? Not me LOL.

I don't mind fiddling with the slides in Photoshop. I actually really enjoy that part of it - one ofthe reasons I wanted the scanner :o) There's something about taking an imperfect thing and making it nice again which really appeals to the Virgo in me *g*
