Ah crap...
Aug. 16th, 2005 07:08 pmSo I'm walking back to my car tonight, and it's sitting all alone in the dark and mainly deserted parking lot... and I notice some freshly broken red plastic on the ground beside my car. 'Oh' I think, 'some poor bugger's had their car smashed into.' Then I notice the side of my bumper bowing out from the side of my car. The poor bugger was me. Tail and indicator lights completely smashed out, bumper bent and scratched. I'm very grateful that at least the lady who hit me left her phone number under my windshield wiper. So no cost to me other than some time and a bit of inconvenience. Still, it was a bit of a shock. My poor little baby Toyota Echo. I'd say, by the damage done and where it was, the woman was driving one of those big SUV things. My sister and I were just saying the other day they should be banned in urban areas. In a place like Auckland, there's just no need to be in something that size.
At least I had a very nice chat to Daniel (the name's a good omen) at IAG Insurance who accepted my claim on the spot and restored my excess and no-claims bonus.
