Haven't I seen you somewhere before?
Feb. 19th, 2008 09:21 pmHubby and I are always seeing "famous people" when we're out and about. And by that I mean lookalikes. I saw David Caruso in the supermarket carpark and the Dalai Lama walking past the local football field just the other week. Hubby is always saying "I saw *insert hollywood superstar's name* today."
So when he arrived at his golf club to play a round, he was amused to see Karl Urban and Sanath Jayasuriya just about to tee off. As is common practice on weekdays, where booking a tee time is not required, hubby went over to "Sanath" and asked if he could join them. "Sanath" said, "Sure, hi, I'm Nevin," and shook his hand. Then hubby introduced himself to "Karl," who said, "Hi, I'm Karl." ROFL.
And so it came to pass that my husband played 18 holes with a Sanath Jayasuriya lookalike, and Karl Urban of The Bourne Supremacy, The Chronicles Of Riddick, Lord Of The Rings, and the yet-to-be released Star Trek movie.
Ironically, people tell hubby on a regular basis that he looks like Jim Carrey...

This could be the world's stupidest question, but does Karl have a Kiwi accent? He usually uses Mid-Western American on Xena so I've never heard anything else.

Except if you're Rick Springfield.

Date: 2008-02-20 05:33 pm (UTC)My hubby plays golf. I've told him if he ever bumps into Karl he's to invite him back for tea :-)
(Highly unlikely since we live on the other side of the globe, but a girl can dream!)
