LOL, he was supposed to come last year, but had a brand new baby to take care of, so we've known about him for a while. But Shanks is just beyond my wildest dreams.

Because we're so far away, lots of guests tend to cancel, so this far out I', not getting too excited. The cool thing is that they often do a limited-issue "dinner with the star" thing for 20 or 30 people, so I'm going to keep my eye open for tickets. I'd sell a kidney for that!

I'm flying from Perth (west coast of Oz) to the Melbourne event the following weekend. Got my air ticket and hotel room already booked so neither of them had better cancel. ;-(

I too would pay big bucks for dinner with either Michael or David, but Michael would be my preference if I could only choose one.

In 2005 I flew Auckland to LA to see Michael. My worst fear was that he'd cancel, but all was well. He's definitely my favourite, though I'd be stoked to see Hewlett.

I've seen Shanks before -- actually managed it three times in one year by accident, when I thought he'd never come to any cons in the Central(ish) US. I should be seeing Hewlett at Shore Leave this summer. But to see them both at the same con? I'd be a happy, happy fangirl. Probably one that squeed herself to death, but I'd go out in style. No dignity, but style baby. ;)

It truly was an accident. It was back when Michael first starting doing cons, and he was doing one in Denver. I've got fannish friends there, so some other friends and I converged on them. At the time, I was also going to a con in Tulsa every year, and both Michael and Lexa were there. Then there was the first round of "official" cons and one was in Dallas, which isn't too far from me.

I went from thinking I'd never see him at a con to seeing him three times in a year, but I'm certainly not complaining. ;) Though I can complain there hasn't been any other big cons in Dallas recently.
