Hmmm.  A few days ago I put another hard drive into my hugely overpowered computer (because nothing says love like .72 of a terrabyte of storage...) and since then I've been hearing something.  It's not constant.  Just every few minutes there's a little ticking noise coming from that area of the computer.  Tick, ticktick, tick.  Repeat a few times.  Go quiet again.

Now, from what I know of computers, ticking hard drives are a Very Bad Thing.  I couldn't get the stupid case cover off to isolate which one it was, so last night I ran checkdisk on all 3 drives.  It didn't give me any reports so I am assuming nothing squicky was found.  Nevertheless, I have backed up everything dear to me on my trusty Western Digital MyBook, just in case.  Knowing my luck, if something's going down, it's likely to be the one with the OS on it.  At least it's still under warranty.

Oh!  In completely unrelated news... Stargate Atlantis fans, I need your help!  *looks pointedly at [personal profile] astridv*  Can you point me to any episodes from S2 or S3 where any member of the Atlantis team fiddles with unknown or dangerous technology and creates a disaster?  I suspect Rodney will feature highly (especially in... is it Trinity where he blows up that solar system?).  Explosions are a bonus but not a specific requirement. *g*

Yes, Trinity is the one with the solar system. That's really the only ep I can think of where someone activating or touching something makes something blow up... But maybe there's something in McKay & Mrs. Miller or The Tao of Rodney that might work?

Yes, Trinity comes to mind first. Eps in which they fiddle around with tech and things go very wrong: McKay & Mrs Miller, Tao of Rodney, maybe The Game (which almost leads to the annihilation of two entire civilizations). Then there's Sunday, in which the fiddling isn't done by our core team, and there's stuff blowing up as a result. And I suppose you could count Carson's de-wraithifying wonderdrug that gets introduced in Michael.
