Sending out special thoughts...
Nov. 28th, 2008 08:40 am... for the 5 New Zealanders aboard the A320 plane that crashed into the Mediterranean Sea this morning. Apparently the jet had been leased to XL Germany for the last couple of years, and was due to be taken back by Air New Zealand at the end of this week. The plane had just been serviced in Perpignan, and the NZers in question had gone over to inspect it before the handover. It was being flown to Frankfurt by XL pilots with an Air NZ pilot, 3 NZ engineers and 1 NZ CAA inspector on board when it crashed. It appears at this stage that there are no survivors.
My hearts go out to their families and friends.
