Merry Christmas!
Dec. 25th, 2008 08:51 pmI hope all of my friends list are having a peaceful, safe, happy holiday (whichever variety you celebrate). Hugs to those with sick relatives or who have recently lost someone special. Hugs to the new mothers who are probably as tired as I am. You've all helped make my hectic year a little brighter.
It's Christmas night here. The turkey is eaten, the wine is drunk, the presents have been opened, and Griffin had a BLAST!
I feel quite guilty to have been so blessed, considering how financially challenging the year has been for most. It's been particularly hard for us, too, after me missing a year of work (and income) on maternity leave. But we've hung in there so far, and there was lots of presents under the tree this morning. I got:
$50 Westfield Voucher from MIL
$100 Westfield Voucher, some Body Shop products, two cookbooks, two ceramic-lined frypans and a magazine subscription from my parents
A handmade calendar featuring photos of Griffin, some pretty gold earrings, a Duran Duran DVD and two bottles of wine from my sister
I love all my gifts. Seeing as my landry-fu has failed me lately, and I've died all my favourite pink t-shirts blue, I'm going clothes shopping like whoa with my vouchers. But maybe not tomorrow, because I think it's going to be mental.
And a big thank-you to
eyesthatslay for the virtual gift. MWAH!
