Well, the holiday is over sigh
And, genius that I am (not!), I have managed to have my first day back coincide with the first weekday of Daylight Savings Time. So not only is it a rude shock getting out of bed - I'm doing it an hour earlier!
On the bright side, my garden looks like somebody else's (someone who looks after their garden, that is...), my boy rats are in a lovely new house where they don't have to climb between levels (after all, they are over 2 now, poor old fellas), and my living room curtains have had a facelift with a lovely border sewn on the bottom, new tiebacks, and I made a matching cushion and tablecloth. I am now going back to work for a rest! It's weird, on one hand the two weeks went really fast, because I was so busy, and on the other it feels like I've been away for ages because I've done so much.
Eleven weeks until I am on holiday again! Long service leave, too, so I get paid double for that one (roll on Christmas). I'm gonna get out my barbeque and hang out on my deck, now that it's been unearthed from beneath the swamp daisy and the triffid-hybrid climbing rose that ate Auckland.
In fanfic news, I am eagerly awaiting the lovely
lala247 to post the rules and guidelines for the Halloween ATS Style challenge at Stranger Things. I've never participated in a challenge before, so I am looking forward to writing to a deadline. My other fic is currently in the tender hands of
starlet2367, who is co-authoring with me. It's my first collaboration with another writer, and that too is exciting. Especially considering who the writer is (love you Kel!).
Alas, I must now get ready for work. Groan.
