Oh my God!

Tradgedy has struck. My dishwasher just broke down. My DISHWASHER. The one item of whiteware that I shed tears of joy over the day it was installed. I sat and watched the whole cycle, cross-legged on the kitchen floor. Apparently "the flood switch has been activated" - probably my fault for jamming a giant saucepan in there so the seal didn't work when the door closed.

Thank heavens I had a fit of sensibility the day I purchased it, and forked out for the extra-long super duper 5 year warranty, with toll-free helpline. Apparently a service professional will be ringing me iminently. Until then, I guess I'll be up to my elbows in suds, cleaning all those dishes from the big cook-up.

::hugs you:: What a great start to a day. And they're always telling us that those warranties aren't worth the money! Hope it's fixed soon, so no dishpan hands. Otherwise, it's get out the Fairy Liquid and the Marigolds, huh.

Thank goodness for the warranty! Someone is coming between 1 and 3 tomorrow afternoon, so I think we can survive on paper plates until then ;0)

I just hope it's not terminal! The guy who installed it said it was the most difficult installation he'd ever done - very small kitchen...
