What a difference the sun makes...
Oct. 20th, 2003 07:47 amIt's scientifically proven that UV light improves your mood. After months where it rained almost every day (ACK!), we've had a dry weekend! Not only that, we had sun! Summer has arrived, and I got to sit on my newly-clean deck and indulge in a cold ginger beer with the warm rays on my neck and arms. It should be mainly sunny now until April next year :o) This winter has to be the wettest we've had.
Tossing up whether to pursue the sore guts issue any further. I'm supposed to call the quack if I'm off colour this week. So far no more bouts of pain and nausea, but my side is still sore if pressed. Watch this space...
Had a bit of fun this weekend spending money. I always enjoy that. I bought a new vaccuum cleaner, which just about sucks the carpet right off the floor. Bloody good! The shop said they'd already sold one of that model this morning, they were very popular. When I stopped by my parents on the way home, I discovered the other model had been purchased by my mother!
Also got a bird cage stand that will hold my giant bird cage, so I can transfer Harry and Linus (the budgies) into it. Linus made a break for freedom on Saturday night, I found him scaling the spare bedroom curtains. I think they need more room.
Lastly I got a computer desk, so when hubby's new computer arrives next week, I have a desk of my very own to put the old computer on. I can't wait. My own wallpaper! My own desktop themes! No waiting for hubby to get off the damn thing so I can check my mail! We're going to network the two, so I can watch my Angel eps on his 17" LCD Monitor.
I've begun work on the ST Halloween Fanfic Challenge. I've never written anything from a challenge before, or anything short, or anything to a deadline. :tremble: Damn I hope I can do a good job. I already have a title and a theme tune, and a good idea of how it will end. I'm hoping hankies will be required. It's supposed to be scary, but I don't know how scary I can be. I might have to settle for depressing and angsty instead...
