Hi, team f-list! 

I have a very dear friend who has just joined Live Journal, and being even more technically challenged than me (sorry, hun!), he has asked me to help him spruce up his layout.  I know enough code to get custom colours and a banner in there, but I can't actually make a banner.  So I appeal to you, dear f-list, is someone able to knock me together a simple banner featuring Gizmo from Gremlins, pretty please?  Maybe I could do something in return, like a little vidlet?

I can do that. I'll have to look around for pictures. I'll need some help getting those if I can't find high enough quality... What size do you want the banner, and what colors is the site going to be?

Oh, awesome, thank you so much! Quite happy to go image hunting for you. We just need a banner that'll fit across the top of an LJ page and I can make the custom colours match the banner, so it's up to you and what you feel like doing :o) *big kiss*

I'm having trouble finding any pictures that aren't tiny, terrible, or both. If your friend has the movie, some screencaps would be very helpful...

No worries, I will have a scrounge around and if I can't turn anything up, I'll see if I can get hold of the DVD. Failing that, would a divx downloaded copy screencapped produce good enough quality pics?

A downloaded copy would be fine. They just need to be jpegs that are 72 DPI and at least 300 pixels in height. They can be higher DPI, but they need to be bigger then, because they'll get smaller when I make them 72 DPI...

Okay, I've done my best. The problem with Gremlins not liking bright light is that the movie is very poorly lit! I've got one big wallpaper I found, plus my caps, which photoshop tells me are 72 DPI and 304 pixels high. I've sent them as a zipped folder just so I could email it as one file, and you can download it from: http://www.yousendit.com/download/YkxMRkJRT01xRTN2Wmc9PQ Hope that does the trick.
