Shampoo

Okay, WTF is going on with shampoo? Seriously, I went to the supermarket tonight to find an alternative to my standard Pantene Classic Clean (which does not get my Matrix product out properly) and found that most of the other brands don't seem to do shampoo for normal hair.  There's moisture boost for dry or damaged hair, one for coloured hair, one to add shine, one to add volume for thin hair, anti-frizz for flyaway hair, dandruff treatment... but none that just wash it. Every shampoo range used to have a plain "for daily use" option.  Oh for the days when I could afford Biolage Naturals. *sigh*

In the end I got the Pantene clarifying one, for removing residue. Let's hope it doesn't strip all the natural oils out. Oh well, at least then I could buy one for dry and damaged hair, I guess...

Being in the industry myself (HA!), I'd recommend taking a trip to your nearest salon to have a word with a stylist because, quite honestly my love, Pantene is TERRIBLE for your hair. Seriously, that and Tresemme give me night terrors. The detergents in them, just. Awful. I feel the vapors coming on just thinking about them.

Professional shampoos and conditioners will cost you more but you use less and that ends up saving you the moneys in the long run AND you get exactly what your hair needs. You want something like a gentle cleanse for every day use, or possibly a deep cleanse if you have product build up.

Yeah, I know that the supermarket brands are all pretty horrible *blush* I can get away with it to an extent because I have my hair cut every 4 weeks and I know from previous highlights that the entire lot is chopped after 12 weeks.

The Matrix stuff always got my product out no problem at all, so I might make Gareth use the Pantene on his stubble and get myself something nicer at the salon next time I go.

I love Pantene. But your other friend has a point. I use to do hair long ago and a professional shampoo is better. I use Biolage..
They do seem to make shampoo for everything else now a days down't they?

I swear, I spent about 10 minutes just standing in the aisle going "huh?" It was seriously distressing.

I have a gift voucher for my birthday for Westfield, so I might pop into Shampoo'n'Things and stock up on shampoo and product of a less dubious quality :o)

Yep, it's pretty much a nightmare trying to buy beauty products. *sympathizes with you*

Especially when they are so jolly expensive. *sigh* We have a rule in my house that if you can get it at the supermarket, it can come out of the grocery budget, but if it comes from another shop, it comes out of your own spending money. Which I have very little of. WShy can't they start stocking Matrix at Foodtown? *pout*

I use Pantene (moisturizing) and I love it. *gives Daisy the evil eye* What about baby shampoo? I would think it is gentle enough to use daily but I'm betting it's got some hidden lye in there somewhere. :D

I didn't mind the normal Pantene until I started getting product build-up when I went back to my old favourite Matrix styling paste. I don't think baby shampoo would get it out either, to be honest. Maybe it's a marketing ploy by Matrix - you need to buy their shampoo to remove their product, LOL.
