That is the sound of Claire discovering that while deleting S5 of House from her external hard drive the other night (since hubby bought the DVDs) she inadvertently deleted EVERYTHING. All the downloaded shows, and the backup files for a bunch of other stuff. *headdesk*

Thankfully, I'd backed the shows up to another external drive, bar half a season of Seeker and the latest SGU, but still, what a PAIN transferring it all back. And I can't remember if there was anything else on there that I need to re-back-up to it.

At least I don't think I've actually lost anything (Seeker/SGU notwithstanding). I hope. GULP.

BTW - What do you think of SGU? I like it so far but I know a lot of SG-1/SGA fans that hate it. I know it different from the other SG shows, I think that's what I like about it, a refreshing change of pace.

Ah well, I'm feeling a bit smug now that I was properly backed up for the most part :o) (ooh, and now I can use my Hermiod icon, yayz)

I haven't yet had time to watch SGU. I'm going to wait until I've got a good 5 or so eps and then mainline the lot. I'm prepared for something a bit BSG-esque so hopefully I'll like it.

Thanks, sweetie! I remember your recent similar drama :o/ I got all my shows back bar the 5 or 6 Seeker eps that I hadn't yet backed up, but I'm feeling pretty pleased that I was vigilant enough to back up all the important stuff right away. I'll have to be much more careful when I delete from them, in future! I think I managed to select all instead of just the House eps, and because the rest of everything was off the screen, I didn't realise I'd done it.
