I Love Long Weekends

Labour weekend, celebrating the advent of the 40-hour working week by not having a 40-hour working week. And the weather has been beautiful. Labour weekend always used to herald the beginning of summer. In recent years summer has come later, finished later, but today I heard the first cicada. I think it's gonna be a long one (fingers crossed).
I buried Chester on Saturday, started a new tier in the family plot. I now have nine little ratties buried at the Garden of Remembrance. Bart has had an exciting weekend, getting a new home and new friends. He's moved in with the girls. Sure, they beat him up a lot, but hopefully once he shows them he's not there to pull rank, they'll love him to bits. At least he's not alone. Rats are social animals, and I think he would have pined for his brother. I'm sure he misses him.
On the fic front, I've finished my Halloween Fanfic Challenge for Stranger Things. I've never written a short piece before, so this was a new experience. I'm not sure if it's total crap or not. I'll let my betas tell me that! (Thanks guys, you know who you are!) It's good to have the first draft done with a week up my sleeve. Don't want to miss my first deadline!

Our new neighbour upstairs has three young rats, btw, really cute. Still a bit shy, though (The rats, not the neighbour).
