Am I addicted?

Do you check your e-mail/friendslist first thing every day? Before breakfast? Before going to the bathroom? In the middle of the night as you walk back from the bathroom?
Every day, it's the first thing I do. The computer is right outside the bedroom so I can't go past without having a sneaky peek.
How many times do you check your e-mail a day? Once? Twice? More than five? More than you can count?
More than five, less than... er, fifty. Depends if it's a weekday or not, because I can't access Yahoo from work.
How about your friends list? Do you jump at the sight of the pretty flashing icon from Semagic that tells you someone's posted?
Eh? What? I don't have a flashing icon :pouts: I check periodically. I can access my LJ from work, so I look at that quite often.
How many times a week do you read fanfiction? If you're a writer, how often do you sit down to write? Do you carry a notebook so you can write down story ideas while you are out on the town? How about when you're at work?
Not as often as I'd like to, on both counts. When I'm in the middle of writing something, I try to do some every day. After everyone has gone home for the day at work is a good time for me. I don't carry a notebook. I get my best ideas in the shower, for some reason. Sometimes I'll beta at work, but I steer clear of the fanfic sites when I'm there as the web marshall is a bit funny about the NC-17 stuff!
Do you ever get so desperate for fanfiction you'll read in fandoms you know little or nothing about? Even if the story isn't that good?
No. I have authors I particularly like, but I don't have the time or patience to trawl through screeds of stuff to find something well-written or interesting. My writing friends often rec things, and I'll make a point of reading those.
Do you ever spend more than you can really afford on fannish things?
No - there's not really that much to buy here, unless I go looking on the internet, which I don't. I mainly get the DVD's (9 seasons of Buffy/Angel ain't cheap, but I put a little aside when I know a new season is due) and the odd calendar. I don't really have much interest in cards and such.
Do you either go to a con every year or desperately wish you could?
Not really - but maybe if I go to one it will change me. I'm a bit agoraphobic, so crowds bother me.
