Everyone say Aaaaaaaahhhhhhh....
Dec. 16th, 2003 07:35 amThe humidity is gone! Hooray! I love warm weather, but that was just thoroughly unpleasant. Last time I experienced humidity like that, I was in Singapore.
Let's see, how is my world today?
Christmas Shopping: Not finished (Mum's present is officially out of stock everywhere in New Zealand).
Secret Santa Fic: Not started, but I know what I'm going to write. Sort of. (PWP - hee!)
Ghost Fic: Rockin' along nicely. Loving this one like I loved Santas. Currently with Kel.
Work: Four days to go until my long service leave. Soooooo can't wait for that. I haven't had three weeks off at once since 1995. And that wasn't very relaxing, since we went to England in the middle of their winter, and Dad dragged us up and down the country in the car (bah!).
Christmas Tree: Up
Car: Filthy
And now... gakked from

MASTERMIND
(Submissive Introvert Abstract Thinker )
Like just 8% of the population you are a MASTERMIND (SIAT). You can be silent and withdrawn, but behind your reserved exterior lies an active mind that allows you to analyze situations and come up with creative, unexpected solutions. Normal people call this "scheming." Don't learn German.
Anyway, your sense of style and originality are your strengths, and people will respect your judgment once they get to know you. If you learn to be a little more personable, you could be a great leader--you've definitely got the "vision" thing down. Just make sure all the plotting you do behind those eyes of yours is healthy.
Famous masterminds in television: Dr. Claw, The Scarecrow and Mrs. King, Montgomery Burns.
Take The Test
Hey? I'm not an evil genius. I'm not. And I am personable. This is because I said I'm a good liar, isn't it? I do sit and scheme, but only nice schemes. About what to write in my latest fanfic, usually.

Re: Mum's present is officially out of stock everywhere in New Zealand
Date: 2003-12-15 09:58 pm (UTC)What I am after are "Sloggers". They are rubber shoes you wear in the garden - they do all sorts of varieties, but the ones I need are Women's Premium Clogs, green, size 7. They differ from the normal clogs (which we have in abundance) in that they are lined. If you could locate a garden centre over there that would ship them to me, I can pay them by credit card. Or do you have Paypal so I can send you cash? It's worth a try!
:huge hug!: Thank you for offering, you've made my day :o)

Date: 2003-12-16 12:45 am (UTC)I've been at the Mus today and tommorrow so I haven't had a chance to do a ring around but I found this Aus site that sells premium sloggers and by the looks of it delivers o/s
Let me know if this isn't of any help - I'll try and do a ring around tommorow or Thurs - but then it's starting to cut it fine.

Re: Mum's present is officially out of stock everywhere in New Zealand
Date: 2003-12-16 10:00 pm (UTC)I ordered on their site today, then e-mailed to check on postage and such. I was their first international customer! Probably why I couldn't find them when I Googled for sites in Australia a few weeks back - they must have just started selling online. To celebrate they only charged me half on the postage, and the shoes should be here next week.
Thank you so much for your help! I am sooo relieved to have found them, Mum will be very happy.
:big, sloppy kiss:!

Date: 2003-12-19 08:23 am (UTC)Also, where you been? My mailbox is lonely!
Also, yay! :bounce: I got your present! Thank you, thank you! Brook Frasier is some good, isn't she? Mmm, what a voice! You've got one coming, too, though I'm not sure if it'll actually make it by Christmas. Just think of it as a holiday extension. ;)

Date: 2003-12-19 01:39 pm (UTC)Yep! It came in about half an hour after I posted this LJ entry :o) Remember, we traded e-mails about it when I got to work later that day :feels Kel's forehead:
Glad you liked your pressie!! Brooke is wonderful, and just 20 years old. And did you find the hidden disc in there too? Duran Duran is officially cool again. I'll keep my eye on the box for your pressie - thank you! :smooch: I've had some wonderful mail lately - namely all of ATS4 on video. Gareth watched the whole damn thing in one weekend. I'm only up to StB.
Also, where you been? My mailbox is lonely!
 I thought you owed me mail! Maybe my last one didn't get through? But I've also been mad at work getting everything sorted before my holiday. And they kept dragging me off to long, boozy 3-hour lunches, which didn't help the productivity much. But now I am on holiday :does snoopy dance: so expect me to be mailing you all the time and being generally annoying :o) I've decided that I'm going to go in for a third reading of LotR, since the last time I read it was in 1985! And I can't wait to write more of our ghost-fic. I just need to do my Secret Santa first, so if you don't mind beta'ing that for me?
Righto, just woke up, so better have my cuppa tea. Not human without it! :big hug:
