We're all going on a summer holiday...
Dec. 22nd, 2003 05:50 pmOh yeah, baby!
My first official day off, and it was fantastic. I've been worried all weekend because I had a sore throat and felt crappy, and I thought I was getting a cold, but the liquid echinacea I've been swilling seems to be working, and I felt fine when I got up. The dishwasher repair man showed up 2 hours early, which meant it was all fixed before my hair appointment, freeing me up to go to the mall after the haircut and get Tuesdays jobs done (your LOTR stamps are on their way, Katy!).
Popped into Mum's house on the way home, to find my sister (also on holiday) had visitors - namely two guys she works with (who weren't on holiday, but decided to come over for lunch anyway), so I sat on the deck with them, in the sun, with a nice cold drink.
Then I came home and did some gardening in my bikini - got all the weeds out of my rockery, and planted a bunch of succulents. Of course, now I am sunburned, which is a bit naughty, but at least the suntan is underway, and I won't get burned again, now the melanin is rising  I'm keen to get rid of the pale blue hue on my legs! After I came indoors I had a cup of tea and a wee nap on the sofa, to round off the afternoon. All in all a very enjoyable day.
Sunday was also quite productive. Bought a very nice Rimu (NZ Native wood) CD rack, since our 550 disc one has overflowed! And I managed to crank up my dinosaur of a sewing machine and make a cover for the budgies' new cage. Tomorrow I plan to clean the house a bit, because I've got my family coming the next day for Christmas Eve drinkies and nibbles (an annual tradition), and the weather forecast is not fantastic.
Big hugs to
starlet2367, who thinks I've disappeared into a black hole. Ghost fic has to wait until SS fic is done. All I can say is thank God I'm on holiday. I plan to sit down later tonight with a nice glass of chardonnay and go hard at it, pun intended!
