Poor Morpheus,

Hubby's car is dead. The body of a 6-year old Ford Probe, brand new firehawk tires, perfectly good 10-disc cd player, new brakes... and a completely stuffed engine. I rang Ford today, and they said a brand new engine would cost $18,000 (about $10,000US). The whole car didn't cost us that much! So now we are waiting for quotes on a reconditioned one. And all because the sodding oil light didn't come on. I spent half an hour bawling in my boss's office today (he's lovely, luckily) and now I've got a knot the size of a walnut in my shoulder from all the tension. Gonna have to borrow from the bank to afford repairs. Not happy. Still, I'm looking on the bright side. We'll save on petrol for the next couple of weeks...

I'm so sorry to hear this! Me & mine went through the exact same thing a few years back. The only difference was that *my* husband admittedly *never* put oil in the darn car. Dumbass.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you. :)

Thanks Katy :0)

I've recovered from my brain explosion yesterday, just gotta get it fixed and move on now. At least if it had been huuby's fault, we could have gone, "right, that was dumb", but because there really is nobody to blame, I have all this frustration and nowhere to direct it! I'm awaiting a quote on the reconditioned enging (bites nails). Cars are such a wast of money, but in Auckland, you have to have one. Fourth largest city in the world, by land size, but only one million residents, meaning a really crappy public transport system. Not that hubby would stoop to catching the bus LOL.

So sorry about your car troubles! To cheer you up i just got finished with The Case of the Missing Santas, since we had pc problems last week and guess who hadn't printed out your story before it went kerplooey!

Anyway, just wanted to let you know how brilliant I thought it was. Perfectly captured that much missed S1 vibe...made me want to weep at the lack of it now, actually. Terrific story, with a really good baddie BTW, and excellent characterisatons all round. Well done you! :)

I hope we won't have to wait too long for the next one. ::Nudge nudge:: We could do with some C/A goodness. ::sigh::

Oh, good, glad you managed to finally read it :0) And that you liked it!

I really want to write some more, but no ideas are forthcoming right now. Nothing worth expanding on, anyway. Watch this space!
