What a difference a day makes...
Mar. 27th, 2004 09:25 amWe picked up Nicola's keys yesterday. Went over to the house, and one of the couple who owned it was still there, so we said hello, and she gave us all the additional keys and some leftover paint for if we nick the walls. She seemed lovely, making sure Nic knew where the instruction books were for the dishwasher, etc. And she had cleaned everything, which was unexpected.
We went back later, just as it was getting dark, with a few boxes of stuff. I could hear a strange noise in the garden, like leaves crackling, really loud, and I went out a couple of times to see if someone was out there. The sound was coming from all over the garden, and finally I followed the closest noise and found the cutest little baby hedgehog peering at me from the undergrowth. The reason the sound was everywhere is because there was a whole litter of them - I found 6 - behind the shed, under the fence, between the flower pots next to the deck. They were all forraging for food, and calling to each other with a really high-pitched peeping noise. Just adorable. I take it as a good omen. I said to Nic she should call the place Hedgehog Cottage.
Injury count so far: 2 (and that was from before we started moving furniture!). Strained my wrist on the laundry tap, which got stuck (resulting in an emergency plumber callout) and bashed my forearm on the side mirror of my car. Bruised the whole muscle.
Oh, my husband has made a short music video to "Karate" by Tenacious D. Only problem is, we have nowhere to host it. Since it contains several bleep-worthy words, I have a feeling Sony won't allow us to use their free hosting on the Screenblast site! And I can't seem to find a way to host it on my Yahoo small business site...

Heh. Michael's doing this week's calendar for the paper and just informed me that one of our local churches has a concert called "The Audacious Organ." I just thought it was important to share that with you. ;)

Date: 2004-03-27 01:25 pm (UTC)How are ya? I took a photo of one of the babies last night. Like little cute pin-cushions with tiny little black button nose and eyes. Like Mrs Tiggywinkle! There will be iconage, as soon as I have time to download from my camera.
LOL! The Audacious Organ. Hubby has a band called Fatal Hampster. I might change my pen name to BABY HEDGEHOGS IN THE UNDERGROWTH! (to make
The vid's quite funny. Gareth did it the other night. It's mostly one scene, but it's quite appropriate. And he's done something very special with the end. Needless to say, it's full of profanity, but that's one of the things that makes it funny. Yes, I laugh at farts too... :o)
And now, I must get dressed before the furniture truck shows up to get mum's old dining room table!

Date: 2004-03-27 09:40 pm (UTC)This little one got interrupted from his snooze (they're nocturnal) by the neighbour's cat today, and decided while he was up to stretch his legs and have a snack. And pose for the nice lady with the camera.
