I can't believe I'm still sick. Stupid 'flu! :kicks it:

I've pulled a muscle in my stomach from coughing and I've blown my nose so much it's bleeding. I hate this :o(

Go to bed and get well, right now!

Nah, five days of being in bed didn't help. So I went to work and drove the whole office insane with ceaseless coughing instead. Cheered me right up :o)

One word: nasal rinse. Okay, that's two. Works like a charm, has no side effects, is not unpleasant at all even if it sounds like it, and it helps to get rid of a cold much quicker, or even stave it off completely.

I keep forgetting that it's winter where you are. Ugh.

Yeah, ugh. I've had enough of the cold and the damp for one year. Never mind. 28 days til spring! Yippee. I miss my shorts and tank tops.

What do you rinse your nose with? Hubby had nasal surgery and had to rinse his with saline (made with salt and bicarbonate of soda in water). I'll try anything, though after 10 days, I think I might be a little late to do any good :o)

Um, here you can buy a special kind of salt at the drug store, where you can also get a special can of sorts. The salt is called Emsersalz, but I doubt you can get it outside Germany. However, you can use normal salt as well (don't know about adding baking soda). I've tried the normal salt once or twice, but the other stuff just leaves a nice, fresh taste, so I'm sticking with it even though it's ridiculously expensive.

My yoga instructor showed us some huge pink salt crystals, which are imported from the Himalayans, apparently of even higher purity than the Emsersalz, and also ridiculously expensive. ;) You'd probably be able to get those in New Zealand as well. Yogis also use a (simpler) version of the nasal douche you can get here... the yogi version looks like Alladin's lamp in little.

I can only say that, apart from having stayed cough-free for three years in a row (ended by that stupid bronchitis in march, so the stuff can't do miracles every time), I have no more trouble with hayfever, and I found out that I had never really breathed freely until I started using it. We're pimping it to pretty much every one of our friends who as much as sneezes. ;).
