I think I have a chill.

I ache all over and feel shivery.

Yesterday I got all dressed for work, nice light linen pants, a cotton shirt, and a light woollen cardigan for if I got cold in the office. Outside, it was blowing a gale and pouring with rain. But in Auckland in the summer, that sort of weather is usually hot and wet. It wasn't until I walked out of the door that I realised it was actually FREEZING. Too late to go back inside and change, so I got into my car and left. Which was fine, heater on, CD player cranked up... But when I arrived at work, I had a 5-minute walk, during which time I got sooo cold. I was blue when I got to the office. Briar had to lend me her fan heater to thaw my feet out.

And this morning I have woken up weak, aching, and shivery.

Lord, I hope it's not the flu. Has any of my dear f-list had a chill? What was it like? How long do they last? And what's the best treatment? :pleasesayalcohol:

:pout:

*wraps you up in a warm blanket*

I usually just tough it out, or go to the doctor and whine.

Heh heh. Maybe :looks coy:

I haven't got snot. Just aches and chills. So you don't need to bring a towel or anything. Unless I dribble in my sleep.

Which I do

Thanks for the link, honey. My doctor once gave me a "green prescription" which said "rest, drink fluids, keep warm." Sounds like the only thing I can do. My boss will be ropeable, she'll have to go in and cover me tomorrow if I don't feel any better (I'm working offsite in a sole charge position) but what can you do?

I need Dr Jackson and a gallon of chicken soup, stat!

For 'flu, my father used to write on prescriptions Red Label. It was up to the patient whether they went to the bottle-shop for the Johnnie Walker or to the chemists for the Codral.

Just don't mix them!
