YES! Well done to the Black Caps (NZ Cricket team). After being totally humiliated in the test series, they have come back to beat Australia in the first 1-dayer, getting the winning run with just 2 balls to spare.

And Chris Harris wasn't even playing *g*

I was listening under the covers with my walkman jammed in one ear, and my heart was pounding so loud I was sure it was going to wake hubby up! It feels so damn good to win, and especially to win over Australia, who are the best team in the world by a long way.

Oh, also yay for the All Blacks beating the Barbarians by a good 30 points in a festival match. I'm a happy little Kiwi this morning.

Well, we've beaten a lot of good teams in one-dayers in the last 12 months - England, Windies, Pakinstan, South Africa (4-1 in a 5 match series). And Bangladesh, but that goes without saying. You guys are our archilles heel in the short form of the game. EVERYONE is our archilles heel in the long form *g*

Plus? They had the roof closed and the Aussie flock of suicide seagulls couldn't get in.

Oh, so that's why it was closed! Thank God, because Adam Gilchrist probably would have killed a good half-dozen otherwise.
