My two little rattie girls, Ella and Abby, are back from getting their tumours removed, and they seem fine!
Ella now has a hole in her ear, like she was hole-punched. I hope she doesn't snag it on anything! I might let her wear a body-piercing in it ;o) Abby's side looks horrible, all shaved with stitches and bits of puckered flesh poking out. The tumour had attached itself to something in her armpit, so there was a lot of tissue to come out.
They both look bright and happy - let's see if they are when the pain relief wears off! I just hope Abby doesn't chew her wound open :o( The vet had to laugh when I first saw her, I went... "oooh, look at - bleurgh, argh, gross!". And now I have to rub cream on it. Good preparation for kids, perhaps, having to do gross stuff like this. Still, it doesn't compare with the ickyness of a male rat with a waxy penis plug. You haven't lived until you've removed one of those. Urgh.
